Spiritual Warfare

Text-Epistle of Ephesians 6:10

If we want to win the battle we must prepare well. For that we must also fathom our enemy’s strength. We are, as bible depicts, 24/7 we are called to engage in warfare. We as Christians constitute an army of God which constantly wages war against principalities of darkness. Many Christians fail to recognize this fact and live a life not more that an average human being. Here in this passage man of God Paul reveals valuable mystery to its readers. Let’s take a look at it:

     1.       IT IS A REAL FIGHT. A real fight against real enemy. Verse 6-11 the fight occurs many times. This signifies the importance of the idea. Verse 10, 18 saints, brethren and allies of God. Wrestle against principalities, spiritual hosts of heavens and of the present world. If you understand the skim of the devil we can protect ourselves. Devil brings dispute in Christians’ family and Devil also tries to insist people to do which is abominable to God and deviate from God’s purposes.

      2.       IT IS HAND TO HAND CONFLICT. That’s what it is called warfare that means you can’t take your attention even for winking your eyes. This is the reason Paul uses the word warfare. 1 Peter 5:8, we find devil is active all the time.

      3.       IT IS A SPIRITUAL FIGHT NOT PHYSICAL. You are to get involved spiritually. One might have very good muscles or be well qualified to get into even an army but the warfare that Paul talks about is all about spiritual realm. Here you don’t need physical might but spirit of God. This is entirely different that what many would expect it to be.

   Things to Notice:

             A.      Only in Christ we can have strength. Therefore, we must understand our strength in Christ. Moses and David, like many other Old Testament saints, admit that God is their strength. we are the branches of the wine, named Jesus Christ. We are nothing without Him. This realization takes one to another level if Christian life and prepare for warfare.

          B.      Our protection is only in Christ. We are helpless and vulnerable if we get out of the contact of Christ. So we as Christians must find abode in Christ. Stories of the Bible inform us many a incidents in which God protected His people form enemy.

              C.      We must maintain our communication with God. Again in the Old Testament we see all the seers of God maintained very constant communication with God. That’s nothing but prayer. Prayer is the one and only way through which anyone can get an access to God.

            D.      We must wait in the Lord. The one who waits in the Lord will surely receive great thing in life. What Moses said is right. He was waiting for a leader, but when God said to him that you are the one, he got terrified and could not believe initially. We can get mental, spiritual as well as physical strength from God. We must link ourselves to God, this lets us know what God is planning for us, as result we avoid taking fallacious steps in our life.

So remember Satan is pretty much active when it comes to attacking Christian. Always try finding your enemy’s strength and never forget that your strength, protection and victory is from God and God alone. Always remember we are victorious in the Lord.
