Text: Ephesians 1:3-4
Ephesians teaches us that Christian life must be centred in Christ. Not only spiritual but physical part must also be controlled by Christ. Paul's life manifested Christ. That's why he said follow me as I follow Christ. People read from our life.
We must exhibit Christ all the time. Christian life is a life of freedom.
1. Free from sense of guilt
Psalms 32:1 blessed are the one whose sins are forgiven. David wrote this psalm after he had committed adultery. After receiving forgiveness of sin he experienced blessedness in his life and writes this Psalms. Sin - something that should not be done.
There are two kinds of sin- visible and invisible. Hebrews 4:14 God sees everything. We as Christian must be free from all kind of guilts that engulf us when we do wrong. Make sure you experience forgiveness of God in every moment of your life. This guilt sometimes won't allow you to grow in your ministry.
2. Free from power of sin
David broke 7th commandment then to hide that sin he broke 8th commandment then to hide that he broke 9th commandment. God said to Cain sin knocks at your door, we must run away from this power of sin. Paul days in Romans 6 you are dead to sin. God has called to serve Him in holiness. If anything that entangles you in sin, get away from it. Sin is very powerful when it comes to addicting believers for certain weakness.
3. Free from dissatisfaction
John 4: 14 ....water that Jesus gives won't let anyone go thirty. Jesus sent disciples to make Passover. Jesus said you would see a man carrying water, find room in his house and arrange Passover. Now this house was in city, must wealthy man but had no water in home therefore someone has to go out to fetch water. This upper room became a spring of living water.
Many satisfied from this spring. If our life is in Christ we must be satisfied and other also will get satisfied whenever they come to our contact.
4. Free from feeling of defeat
We must walk from victory to victory. There shall not be any situation that stops us from moving ahead. There may be some small loss you may experience but remember you are already victorious in Christ. No matter what makes you feel today as defeated, Christ has won the final battle and we are in His side. Satan is the loser one.....we are in the winning side. This poverty, weaknesses, momentary sense of loss must not discourage us in any way.
