HOPE: AN ANCHOR FOR LIFE

Romans 15:13 is a wonderful prayer that Paul wants every believer to experience: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

So far I haven’t come across anyone saying, “I’m not concerned about having joy and peace and I don’t want to abound in hope.” In fact, we all want and need these qualities, and yet among us very few can reasonably claim to be filled with joy, peace and hope.

Here I would like to limit this article only to the vitality and need of hope leaving joy and peace for a separate thought.

While many see faith and hope as synonyms but it is not. Faith is something that is built upon what one has seen or heard (faith comes by hearing) in the past but hope is an expectation of future realities. Without faith, there is no hope, and without hope there is no true faith.

A Poem on Hope

Amidst unceasing prayer hope unveiling answer
Amidst vagrancy, hope eternal nest
Amidst earthly glory, hope unending wonder
Amidst earthly misery, hope heavenly rest
Amidst poverty, hope unfading asset
Amidst earthly achievements, hope upcoming Best
Amidst widened arms of darkness, hope divine breast
Amidst fiery darts, hope Lord’s final behest
Amidst failing endeavours, hope Christ abreast
Amidst fellow charlatans, hope eternal test

Only then our “hope” in Return of Christ has any value for its quest

You can notice hope is used in verb form in every place. So hope not only for the return for Christ in the future but also for every facet of your life now, here, on the earth. Hope for everything else, basically, emerges from the hope in Christ's Return. And due to the absence of this hope many seems to live a lukewarm dispirited Christians life (nominals). This hope gives us purpose to strive for the purity and assurance of future life. A Christian can still profess him/herself and be called Christian while having no hope for anything similar to non-believers. Our eternal life will not start in the future but has already began with new birth in Christ.

Every mankind has hope of some sort. However, hope in human agency is the product of human mind but the hope in divine is product of divine enablement (through Holy Spirit). That’s why people who lack Holy Spirit also lack this hope. While they may have the ultimate hope of Christ’s coming (everyone has that) but may lose hoping for everything else, significantly, things pertinent for present life.

“…so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Such hope doesn’t come from nowhere but is given by the power of the Holy Spirit. So yielding to Holy Spirit is the key for receiving/growing in the hope.

THUS HOPE IS AN ANCHOR FOR OUR LIFE IN CHRIST AS WE LIVE ON THIS EARTH WITH HUMAN WEAKNESSES
◄ 1 John 3:3 ►And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.◄ Romans 8:24 ►For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see?

Outcomes of Hope

(1) It gives us joy and peace.

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

(2) It gives us protection.

Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness.

(3) It gives us strength, courage, boldness.

Psalm 31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the LORD.

(4) It gives us endurance, comfort, confidence in the face of death.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope.

(5) It gives us confidence in ministry.

1 Timothy 4:10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

GOD OF BROKENNESS: A POEM

Text: Psalms 34:18, Isaiah 57:15

Broken soil ready for grain,
Broken clouds showers rain,
Broken seed ready for breed,
Creation proves this indeed,

With agony,
Broken Father agreed

To Slay His son,
For your saving need

Broken Christ walked the way,
Giving us His first lead

Praying always while alive,
At Gethsemane He did bleed

Broken Spirit He gave,
To help us when we plead

God's simple creed,
A broken heart can only heed
It will deliver you from all greed

God says, Brokenness is what,
You only NEED...!!!

GENERATION OF FACEBOOK: A POEM

Generation of Facebook

Postmodern generation
Poisoned with Facebook

Abandoning real
Caught in virtual hook

Putting an end to street games
Sitting before display liking feeds on Loop

Sliding screens day and night
Lost the days of marbles, Comic & adventurous book

Unseen to friends in front
Sea afar searching peer Group

Thousands in the friend list
No one when for a need you look

Hungry for comments and likes
Obsessed with fashion & look

Child, adult & Old alike
Found drinking from its brook

Memes are current trend
Ceased reading real book

Forgetting relations alive
Dating online sitting aloof

Losing sleep, health and future
Folks are unable to unhook

Bombarded with the posts
Who’ve got time to look

Post, like, comment, share
Feeds of unending troops

Spending every click of watch
Wondering of time & questioning who took?

Deliverance lies in the cupboard
Dusty, untouched; the God’s book

Who gonna save this generation
From this fake book?

CELEBRATING MOTHER'S DAY: STORY OF A MOTHER

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the person, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents Day.

In India it's celebrated on 14th May, interestingly enough, which is also my mother's birthday.

Below is a poem that is dedicated to every mother.

The day I was born
For once she smiled at my cry
Thence at my single shriek
Mother rolled tears, gave smile no second try

Every step of crawl
Was the matter of joy
Mother's heart ached at every outing
When I waved hands, saying, bye bye

Night is gone half
Singing lullaby slow
Mother had no sleep
Rocking me to and fro

I grew older
Mother was my guide
Had nothing to bother
She stood always by my side

From dad’s spanking
To the scold of teacher
Though it be a dark shadow
Found Warmth in Mother

Crash of bicycle
Injuries on every side
Or fighting with neighbors
Mother stood always by my side

As a child had small illness
She nursed with care
Dawn was at the door
But Mother didn’t tire

Feeding child well
She goes hunger
Gave up on her needs
It’s but the Mother

Using broom, roller, sandal at err
Hitting with everything, here & there
Later, comes with food baked in love
It’s but the Mother

Heavy Rain drops
Or the December’s cold
Summers’ scorching heat
Calmed in Mother's hold

Get me KFC, McDowell
Taste of Hyderbadi flavour
Nothing matches home
There's the Mother

I see Aesthetic of Taj
Or Magnanimity of Bhurj tower
Nothing replaces home
There's is the Mother

A place to hide or share
In the stormy weather
Had a bad day in life?
Refreshing anew the arms of Mother

Her joy is not in the park
Roaming Market or visiting theatre
She overwhelms with joy
When her child calls her Mother

With all child’s inability
Weakness and failure
Someone’s love never changes for you
It’s but the Mother

Masking every hurt
In the face of a gentle mother
Never sharing her own agony
It’s but the Mother

Day is quite busy
Friends, work everywhere
Waiting for just a call from child
It’s but the Mother

Mother's labors go unseen
With no or little praise
She painstakingly works day and night
Until the end of her days

Forfeited comfort
Infusing my day with color
She almost lost her life
It’s but the Mother

At school you are teacher
In home you are keeper
With children you are Mother
Wonder!! Do you stop ever?

Day hangouts
And night get-together
Someone awaits back in home
It’s but the Mother

God is greatest; creator of all
They say before God there’s no other
If I have a chance to say
Yet, after God is the Mother

Always wishing best for her children
If someone’s lips never cease in prayer
Pleading God for a family’s safety
It’s but the Mother

Children grow, get busy with job
And tent a family newer
Never disremember your parent
There’s a waiting Mother

Surrendered herself at the altar of motherhood
To see child grow safe and greater
What do you’ve got to return?
For a love undubious beyond measure

Love your mother,
Coz you won't find another

Share this with your mother and let her know your love for her.

Happy Mother's Day and stay blessed!!!

TIMELESSNESS: A POEM

Thought of mine always flying
Whether it's time of rest or dine
But what shall I do I have no time,

I get closer to my feeling
When I sit down and start thinking,

I have got much to do in my student life
More than that I've got to do in my personal life,

I struggle day and night in my thought
But no time to let it out,

Saji sir has given 50 verses to remember
Dinesh sir has taught us to spend time in prayer,

Jose sir is waiting to listen my preaching
Samson sir is ready with lexicon-filled teaching,

Who has got the time to pen further lining..???

LOVE GAME: POEM

Just only an attraction
When eyes get connection
Hearts are filled with affection
Deeply struck by seduction
Lovers want warm relation

Some days passed with this section
Then he looked for another connection
with new piece of selection

One is left with tension

Smashing all emotion
Suppressing all passion
Crushing all devotion
Feeling of exasperation

Then realized it was a wrong decision
Some days passed in this position
After a few days she also got a new connection

Forgot last misconnection
Stapled heart’s fraction
Shamelessly ready for one more connection

This is the boring story of worldly love game
Everything is but vain, vain and vain

A Wretched Soul's Testimony: A Poem

Initial days of his college
Was without wisdom and knowledge,

Friends treated him with tomfoolery
You are a hopeless lad with a future indeed scary,

Every day he got stultify
Became frustrated his weakness always amplify,

As a young lad he lost dad
Gone crazy and behaved as mad,

Shattered life in a day
Felt as world has come to a stay,

Was lost in the world
Never cared for God’s word,

Hopping with the moods of carnal friends
He fell prey to the worldly trends,

Being addicted to worse habits of peril
Chained himself into the cage of devil,

Crime became his talent
In greed, lust and cheat he got blatant,

Had money beyond measure
Tried things beyond fetter,

Boozing, puffing became a game
In vile field left no unknown name,

Mother became anxious in fear
Always rolling tears spending time in prayer,

Sister teased saying, you will became grass cutter
No doubt she was right according to his character,

God still had a plan for this sinner
Showed light and his life got cleaner,

Seeing state of own life, he sat down to cry
Very soon realized crying won’t help him fly,

Started working hard, gave himself to every try
Power from above came down with his sigh,

He became a new man no one can deny
Life became meaningful he started serving Most High,

Story is too long I fear ink may dry,

Hoping the tale of this life was ample, to call your heart before Jesus to cry,
Longings of your heart and sins of your hands, Only Jesus is big enough to pacify, purify,

Thereby, He alone can satisfy!!!

God bless

Prayer, Mission & Death: Poems

Prayer

In hour of prayer
We sit and share
Solution for problems, protection and care
Always listening God’s ear
In prayer we draw Him near
In the times of weakness, Holy Spirit is near
Prayer gives power and dispels sin and fear
Healing from worry, medicine for terror
If you need connections clear
Clean your heart and come with fear
Receive your answers go with cheer
If found no answers so far, just continue your prayer

Christian Mission

Unique people for unique mission
Ever ready for work but with a vision
Preaching the word in all season
Carrying good news whether house or prison
Restoring souls unto sanctification
Leaving by faith for divine provision
Christ is the only hope and the reason
Always serving our Lord with full submission
For us to live Christ and to die is mission

Death

Most obvious thing in the world is death
No point of using math, uncertain is the time of death
Occurs with the stopping of the breath
Originated when on devil’s lie Adam put his faith
Folks not knowing Christ are suffering spiritual death
People believing in Christ have surpassed second death
It’s Christ who can save you from eternal death
Nothing but through a simple faith

GRACE & LOVE OF GOD: POEMS

Grace Oh Grace

"You came with rapid flow,
Wanna sin no more,
Got so swift was once slow,
Wanna love friends and foe,
Now high spirited was once low,
Wanna lighten world with divine snow,
In anger n speech I'm getting slow,
In faith and love I wanna grow,
Trusting God for every blow,
Always Praying in every go,
Neither for a girl nor a bro,
But only for my Jesus I wanna glow,
Why I'm changed wanna know,
Know Jesus n rest is known,
And this to the world I wanna show,
In Christ there's life forevermore"

Love Found Me

We often searched for true love
In the array of love we found many foe,

Amidst many swindling crow
Nobody can quench the thirst of love,

But I waited and hoped for the same
For once I thought I lost the game

Then there came a ray of hope
Which opened all the choke

Eyes were opened and I could see
For Jesus is waiting and watching over me;

Opening His arms and calling me home
Thus He saved me from my darkened form

Real Lover

"Love makes us dear,
Love causes real cheer,
Love makes our life clear,
Love draws us near,
Love dispels every fear,
God showed this love when He bestowed His Dear,
Thus proved He is your real Lover"

God's Love

Love of God has authority to transform humanity,
Love of God has power to consume your iniquity,
Love of God can overcome all sorts of enmity,
Once you find it, gonna sink in it's enormity

Worthlessness

I had never been worthy to get it,
No way was to achieve it,
But He said to me, "my son you can freely have it"

I was left careless,
I was left hopeless,
I had no one to love me,
No one to think of me,
I broke my heart in search of true love,
Spoiled my mind thinking it How?

Then sounded the voice of Jesus,

"I have bought you by my blood let me draw you close"
Then I could do nothing but blossom like a Rose
